  • Frosting
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • ⅓ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ⅛ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 or 13×18 pan.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs one at a time.
  3. Sift cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the batter until smooth.
  5. Pour into pan and bake 18–38 minutes depending on pan size.
  6. Cool completely in pan.
  7. Beat butter until creamy for frosting.
  8. Add powdered sugar and whip until fluffy.
  9. Add cream, vanilla, and salt; whip until light and smooth.
  10. Spread frosting over cooled cake and serve.
