- 1 cup finely chopped pecans
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp orange zest (optional)
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp milk
- powdered sugar for dusting
- 2 refrigerated pie crusts
- 2 tsp sanding sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Toast pecans and mix with sugar, butter, vanilla, and cinnamon.
- Prepare egg wash with egg and milk.
- Cut pie crusts into circles.
- Fill, fold, and seal hand pies.
- Brush with egg wash and vent tops.
- Bake 18–22 minutes until golden.
- Cool and dust with sugar.
Notes
- Toast pecans for better flavor.
- Seal edges well to prevent leaking.
- Can be stored at room temperature for 3–4 days.
- Freeze for up to 3 months.
