  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  2. Gradually mix in the sweetened condensed milk, beating for 2 minutes until fully combined.
  3. If using a flavor extract (up to 2 teaspoons), add it now.
  4. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and beat for another 1–2 minutes.
  5. Add the flour and baking powder to the butter mixture and beat until just incorporated.
  6. If adding mix-ins (up to 1 cup), fold them in now.
  7. Using a cookie scoop, portion the dough into even mounds onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spaced 2 inches apart.
  8. Preheat the oven to 320°F (160°C) and bake for 12 minutes.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes.
  10. Transfer to a wire rack and generously dust with confectioners’ sugar.
  11. Allow cookies to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Do not overbake—cookies should stay pale on top for a soft texture.
  • Fold in only up to 1 cup of mix-ins to keep the dough stable.
  • Dust cookies again after cooling for extra snowy coverage.
