Ingredients
Scale
- Dough
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 cup plain flour (all-purpose)
- 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- Coating
- 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 1 cup white sugar
Instructions
- In a pan, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat and gradually stir in flour until a smooth dough forms. Remove from heat.
- Transfer dough to a mixing bowl and let cool for 4–5 minutes. Add egg and vanilla, then beat until smooth.
- Transfer dough to a piping bag. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease the basket.
- Pipe bite-sized churros into the basket, leaving space between each. Brush lightly with butter.
- Air fry for 10–12 minutes until golden, working in batches if needed.
- Mix cinnamon and sugar in a shallow bowl. Toss warm churro bites in the mixture until fully coated.
- Serve warm with chocolate sauce, honey, or Nutella.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
- Churros taste best served fresh and warm.
- You may lightly spray churros before coating to help cinnamon sugar stick.
