  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour melted butter into a 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading evenly.
  3. Whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt; stir in milk until smooth.
  4. Pour batter over melted butter in dish, do not mix.
  5. Sprinkle packed brown sugar and chopped pecans evenly over batter.
  6. Carefully pour boiling water over the top; do not stir.
  7. Bake 40–45 minutes until top is golden and cobbler crust forms.
  8. Let rest 10–15 minutes before serving.
