- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup milk (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with milk until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix one-third of the batter with cocoa powder until smooth.
- Spoon dollops of both batters into the prepared pan and swirl gently with a knife to create marbling.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool before slicing.
