  • 60 saltine crackers (about 1 1/2 sleeves)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil covering bottom and sides.
  2. Lay saltine crackers in a single layer on the sheet. Break pieces to fill edges if needed.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat. Stir in brown sugar and bring to a boil for 3 minutes without stirring.
  4. Pour hot butter-sugar mixture evenly over crackers. Spread with a spatula to cover all crackers.
  5. Bake for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Let sit 2–3 minutes until softened. Return to oven briefly if needed.
  6. Spread melted chocolate evenly and add sprinkles if desired.
  7. Cool completely (fridge helps). Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
