This Homemade Cinnamon Roll Cake dessert has all the flavor of a cinnamon roll but in an easy cake with a vanilla icing drizzled on top!

Ingredients

  • For the cake: 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 cup white granulated sugar, 4 teaspoons baking powder, 2 large eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 1 ½ cups milk, ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter, melted
  • For the cinnamon filling: ¾ cup salted butter, softened, 1 cup packed light brown sugar, 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour, 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • For the glaze: 2 cups powdered sugar, 5 Tablespoons milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cake ingredients and mix until just combined. Spread batter evenly in pan.
  3. For filling: combine butter, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Drop spoonfuls over cake batter and swirl with a knife.
  4. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. For glaze: whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Pour over warm or cooled cake.

Notes

  • You could use only one stick of butter in the cinnamon/sugar filling if preferred.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.
