  2. Cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in vanilla extract, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and caramel bits.
  6. Drop dough onto prepared baking sheet using a cookie scoop, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  7. Lightly sprinkle sea salt on top of each cookie.
