  • 1 16.3-oz box brownie mix (plus ingredients on the box)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 ½ cups chopped pecans
  • ¼ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup chopped baking chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F; line 9×9-inch pan with parchment and spray.
  2. Prepare brownie batter per package, stir in chopped chocolate, pour into pan.
  3. Bake 18–20 minutes until edges set and center slightly jiggly.
  4. Cool 20 minutes while preparing pecan topping.
  5. Melt butter, add brown sugar and egg on low speed until combined; add vanilla, salt, and corn syrup.
  6. Fold in pecans; pour over partially baked brownies, spreading evenly.
  7. Bake 35–45 minutes until edges set and center slightly jiggly.
  8. Cool at least 2 hours before slicing to set topping.
