- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup hot fudge sauce, plus extra for drizzling
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Mix until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips, hot fudge, and walnuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake 45-50 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack. Drizzle with extra hot fudge before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
