  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F; grease 9×9 or 8×8-inch pan, or line with parchment.
  2. Prepare brownie batter per box directions; stir in chocolate chips if using; pour ¾ of batter into pan.
  3. Make cheesecake layer: beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth; spoon over brownie batter.
  4. Drop remaining brownie batter on top; swirl gently with knife or toothpick.
  5. Bake 35–40 minutes until toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
