- 1 box yellow butter cake mix (plus ingredients to prepare)
- 2 small boxes French vanilla instant pudding (plus ingredients to prepare)
- 1 cup chocolate frosting OR chocolate ganache (chocolate + cream)
Instructions
- Bake cake in a 9×13 pan as directed.
- Prepare pudding according to package instructions.
- Poke holes in warm cake using a spoon handle.
- Pour pudding over cake, filling holes and spreading evenly.
- Refrigerate 1.5–2 hours.
- Warm frosting or make ganache until pourable.
- Spread chocolate topping over chilled cake.
- Refrigerate until set before serving.
Notes
- Use more or less pudding depending on preference.
- Do not overheat chocolate frosting if using store-bought.
- Ganache thickens as it cools for richer texture.
- Best served chilled overnight.
