Ingredients

  • 1 package Oreo cookies
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Carefully twist apart 12 Oreo cookies, keeping halves with cream filling intact.
  2. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Pipe or spoon onto cream-filled side of Oreo half, sandwich with other half, press gently, and freeze 30 minutes.
  3. Heat 2 inches of oil in deep pot to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Whisk flour, egg, milk, melted butter, and baking powder until smooth.
  5. Dip each frozen stuffed Oreo into batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  6. Fry 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown, working in batches.
  7. Drain on paper towel-lined plate and dust with powdered sugar before serving warm.
