- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- Cream the softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add dry ingredients until incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips gently.
- Press half the dough into the prepared pan; drizzle caramel sauce on top. Drop remaining dough over caramel and spread gently.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely before cutting into bars. Sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
