  • 5 ounces canned evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9″x13″ baking pan.
  2. Cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, mixing until combined.
  4. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Spread half the cookie dough into the pan and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  7. While baking, melt caramels with evaporated milk in microwave, stirring every 30 seconds. Add peanut butter and mix until smooth.
  8. Pour caramel sauce over the baked cookie layer.
  9. Drop remaining dough on top of caramel layer.
  10. Bake 17-20 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  11. Cool completely before slicing into bars.
